2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Launched at Rs 6.35 Lakh

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will reinvigorate the competition in the crowded premium hatchback segment against the likes of Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2022 Baleno premium hatchback in India at an entry-level price ₹6.35 lakhs. The price of the new generation Baleno goes up to ₹9.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti is also offering a subscription model for the new Baleno with plans from ₹13,999 per month.

Bookings for the new generation Baleno, which now comes with the latest technology, are now open for pricing ₹11,000. Baleno facelift 2022 will renew the competition with the likes Dad Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz in the premium hatchback segment.

2022 year Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be offered in four trim levels which include Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha as the top trim. These will be divided into seven different variants depending on the transmissions offered.

Maruti continues to rely on the same 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine used in the outgoing model. The engine is capable of producing 89 hp. and 113 Nm of maximum torque. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or the newly introduced AGS gearbox. It also offers a start/stop function in standby mode.

Maruti continues to strive to increase the mileage of its vehicles. After the launch of the new generation Celery last year, which claims to be the most fuel efficient petrol car in the market, Maruti Suzuki has also improved the fuel efficiency of the Baleno. The Baleno will offer 22.3 kmpl for the manual version and 22.9 kmpl for the automatic variants.

As for the appearance, the new generation Baleno has retained the main features of the older model. However, with some tweaks, Maruti Suzuki has made the new generation model more expressive. For example, the radiator grille has been redesigned and is wider than before. It is surrounded by a set of new LED headlamps, three-element DRLs. The bumper has also been redesigned and the hood is now much flatter than before.

New on the sides Balona gets a chrome treatment along the window lines. The hatchback also got a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels with 10 precision-cut spokes. At the rear, the Baleno gets a new set of wraparound taillights, which are also LED. The rear bumper has also received structural changes.

Maruti will offer the Baleno in 6 color options which include NEXA Blue, Luxe Beige, Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red and Grandeur Grey.

However, the biggest changes to the Baleno come inside. It has received an updated look with a new two-tone interior, new upholstery and chrome inserts on the dashboard. For the Indian climate, Maruti has added air vents for the rear passengers. It also offered a fast charging port (AC type) for the rear passengers.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a new infotainment system with a 9-inch digital touchscreen, a new digital instrument cluster, a new steering wheel and new climate control switches.

Among the technical features, the 2022 Baleno will come with a 360 View camera and a Head Up Display (HUD), a first for any car from the brand in this segment. Maruti also offers ARKAMYS-based Surround Sense, claiming premium acoustic sound for those inside the latest Baleno. Maruti is also offering a new generation Suzuki Connect app that will have over 40 connectivity features along with Amazon Alexa voice commands. It displays information such as fuel gauge readings, distance to empty, odometer and other important statistics. The app will also offer information about the general condition of the vehicle, remotely activate the hazard lights, and lock and unlock the vehicle.
