For all those who dare to adventure, KTM North America Inc. introduces the new KTM 890 ADVENTURE R, here to break the barriers of on- and off-road travel. Featuring a host of technical upgrades, this redesigned machine ushers in a new era of rally-inspired aesthetics and performance.

Drawing on the attributes of KTM’s pure READY TO RACE heritage, the ultra-focused development goals of the new KTM 890 ADVENTURE R are clear: further off-roading, reliability and suitability for whatever lies ahead. Launched across the diverse landscape of western Idaho at the 2022 KTM Adventure Rider Rally, the capabilities and daring of the new KTM 890 ADVENTURE R were witnessed in the heart of the Idaho mountains by adventurers from around the world.

Taking cues from the KTM 450 RALLY setup, the WP suspension package on the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R, with fully adjustable WP XPLOR forks and WP XPLOR PDS rear shock, has been retuned to provide better feel and damping to ensure the rider makes it to the end of the track. each stage with reduced fatigue. Further influence from the Factory Rally bike is evident in the redesigned bodywork, with a new fairing, fuel tank and cover that improve aerodynamics and ergonomics, correspondingly increasing weather protection and the bike’s already incredible maneuverability. The fact that the 2023 KTM 890 ADVENTURE R is ready for action also shows a new lower windshield, high front fender and engine protection for those difficult technical moments.

The new 5-inch TFT display — equipped with USB-C connectors — has a completely new look with color icons and intuitive graphics that allow easy menu navigation. In addition, the latest upgrades include an elaborate turn-by-turn navigation system that allows riders to select their desired destination from the motorcycle’s menu. The new phone call feature also allows a selected call option with up to 10 numbers or the option to call one of the last 10 numbers.

To take the software and hardware potential of the electronics suite to the next level, KTM has also included a next-generation Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) control unit that takes readings from a 6-D sensor that constantly informs the CMU of the bike’s angle, pitch, speed and general behavior — to apply the correct amount of braking force in any situation. Riders who want to experience the motorcycle’s off-road potential can rely on OFFROAD ABS as an integrated element of OFFROAD MODE or optional RALLY MODE, without having to select OFFROAD ABS separately.

When the track widens and the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R wants to rack up the miles, the 2023 version provides comfort thanks to the one-piece seat in new colors that still emphasizes mobility and grip. Adventurers can also be seen with new LED indicators that complement the updated graphics package for 2023.

KTM has taken advantage of the growing electronic power of the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R to install a new DEMO MODE, first shown on this 2023 model. The new KTM 890 ADVENTURE R will allow riders to take advantage of all the features and options within the first 1,500 kilometers before the rider decides which package or features to purchase. With the DEMO MODE setting, adventurers can feel and feel the areas of the bike they prefer or rely on right in the thick of the throttle.
