Regular Lamborghini The Urus is no slouch, but the Italian supercar brand has decided to up the ante with the Urus Performante, a new performance version that promises to be lower, lighter, faster and more powerful.
The brand debuted the 2023 Urus Performante Friday at Quail Monterey Car Week. Engineers squeezed out an additional 16 hp. of the twin-turbo V-8 to raise the Performante version’s output to 657 hp while reducing overall weight by 104 pounds, resulting in a 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds, Lamborghini said. . The Urus Performante’s upgraded powerplant also delivers 627 lb-ft of torque.
The Performante’s drive modes, which differ from the rest of the Urus lineup, have been reworked and include a new Rally selection that boosts its oversteer characteristics with anti-roll and damping systems to bolster its revised suspension, the brand says.
To prove its bona fides, Lamborghini took the Urus Performante to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb International Circuit, crossing the finish line in 10 minutes, 39.06 seconds, about 17 seconds faster than the previous record for a production SUV, according to the brand.

Pricing for the 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante starts at $260,676 in the U.S., excluding delivery charges and gas tax. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of the year, Lamborghini said.
