People all over the world pay a lot of money to stand out in the crowd of cars. Today, however, we’re proving that just about anyone can stand out, albeit in very different ways, for a lot less money – and we’re asking you to show us the most amazing car you can find on craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for $2,000 or less.

While the used car market is still full of cars valued well above pre-pandemic times, there are a number of little gems we’ve found while scouring the country. There seems to be a few different angles when it comes to finding something awesome. The first is to find something that is basically just awesome because of its modification.

For example, it’s a Honda CR-V below punches well above its weight class when it comes to off-road ability. It has a lift kit, strong engine mounts and upgraded components throughout. It looks like he’s quite capable when the road ends, but we have a feeling he’ll always be the black sheep on the trail.

Of course, for that kind of money, it’s easy to find something that doesn’t work, but it’s as awesome as it gets. For example, take this school/party bus. According to the poster, it was running when it was parked, but they don’t specify exactly how long ago that was. They do say it will have to be towed to a new home.

On the plus side, it has a coloring that is sure to be the only one of its kind on the planet. It also has a fully furnished interior with what looks like a full bar, a couple of tables and a double (at least) bed in the back. Perhaps the correct answer is to split the difference between these two angles.

This Scion xB just returned from Burning Man and has the paint to prove it. According to the poster, it just drove there and back with no problems, but a little later they said it needed new front brakes, “I use emergency brakes stop it now to engage only the rear.”

However, we have a feeling you can find a few cars for $2,000 or less that could beat it. Show us in the comments below!
