The Scotch tape Choosing a liquor store is a tricky place if you don’t know what you’re looking for. But every year, World Spirits Competition in San Franciscoor SFWSC, helps Scotch whiskey lovers cut their choices with the finalists of the competition for the best Scotch whiskey of the year.
In the weeks from March to April this year, 70 judges tried nearly 5,000 spirits in dozens of categories to narrow down the list of the best of the best. The finalists, which have just been announced, will meet again to determine the winners of Best of Class and Best in Show. This election will be announced in June this year. For the Scotch category these are 15 bottles that will compete for the top prize in their categories.
The best mixed tape – from 16 years and older
Clansman Blended Scotch
ABC: 40%
Clansman is produced at the Loch Lamond distillery and is a blend of Highland malt and grain whiskey.
Double Double Double 32 Blended Scotch
ABC: 46%
Announced by Dewar’s master blender Stephanie McLeod, this blended tape undergoes a four-step aging process before finishing in barrels with Sherry Pedro Ximenez.

Lindores MCDXCIV Single Malt Scotch

This lowland tape, derived from the barley of the Kingdom of Fife, spends time in barrels with bourbon, wine and sherry.
