Aptera has come a long way to making solar electric cars a reality in the US. As a second iteration, the company introduced its flagship Aptera SEV in late 2020, which was soon followed by three different alpha versions complete with black, white and metallic silver exteriors.

A large crowd gathered outside Aptera’s booth at the San Diego Convention Center this morning as the company kicked off the first day of Fully Charged Live with the public debut of its gamma prototype.

Aptera says that the range will soon be followed by Delta prototypes that will be destined for production before the solar electric vehicles start being assembled here in Southern California. Aptera currently has over 32,000 bookings for its flagship SEV over 10,000 new bookings since May.
