Ather Energy plans to further expand its operations by opening 8 new centers of expertise in Tier II and III cities across Kerala, including Kalam, Trichur, Palakkad, Kannur, Kasaragod, Alapuja, Kotayam and Patanamithta. Ather will open its outlets in these cities gradually by the 2nd quarter of 2022.

The company will have a total of thirteen retail stores across the state, following the opening of outlets in Kochi, Kozhikode, Trivandrum, Tyrur and Malapur. The company said it has seen a huge surge in consumer interest and demand almost 12 times since the opening of the first Ather Space in Kerala last year.

Ravneet S Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, said: “Demand for EVs is growing exponentially in Kerala, and customers are increasingly looking for better EV options that offer a great driving experience, advanced features and tremendous value.”

They are also talking to potential retail partners in these markets and have already started looking for places to build a fast EV charging network, Ather Grid. So far, the IIT-M-born electric two-wheeler company has installed more than 40 Ather Grid outlets at several critical outlets across Kerala. The company plans to add another 8-10 charging points in each of these 8 new cities to strengthen the charging network.
