The technology behind the change in color and patterns of the BMW iX Flow is a special film that laminates the car body.
The BMW iX Flow, presented at the Consumer Electronics Show 2022 in Las Vegas, has the unique property of changing the entire body color with a button. Recently initiated at the rad hub dialogue event, the BMW iX Flow was connected directly to the brains of delegates attending the event, using an electroencephalograph (EEG), which records the electrical activity of the brain. BMW has named color models BMW iX The flow responded to brain activity and reflected activity levels.
BMW shared that after the introduction of the iX Flow its color-changing property was further improved. BMW iX Flow project manager Stella Clark said: “Previously, the changes between color samples were only gradual. Now the control electronics have been tuned to turn on instant transformations, resulting in an even more stunning visual effect. ”Clark also added that once the brain reaches a level of rest, the pattern changes on iX Flow become calmer and more rhythmic.
