The sporty appearance of the new Bmw M2 is due to its compact dimensions, powerful proportions and distinctive “M” design features. The exterior length is 214 millimeters shorter than the M4 CoupĂ©, and the wheelbase is 110 millimeters shorter. At the same time, the width of the car and track significantly exceeds the width of the 2-series coupe.
A large, frameless, horizontal-striped twin grille is paired with a three-section air intake (to allow the 460bhp 3.0 six-cylinder petrol engine to breathe better) with near-rectangular contours that give the front of the car a true ‘M’ look. The design was based on technical requirements in terms of cooling air supply and aerodynamic balance. Muscular surfaces, well-flared side skirts and protruding wheel arches set the tone for the car, especially when viewed from the side. The rear of the new M2 also has a compact and powerful look thanks to a spoiler on the trunk lid, a vertically positioned reflector, a rear apron diffuser and two pairs of tailpipes located well inside the outer edges. Five colors are available for the new M2, including Zandvoort Blue and Toronto Red metallic, exclusive to this model.
