• Cadillac has revealed that the twin-engine version of the AWD Lyriq EV will produce approximately 500 horsepower.
  • The first to go on sale is a rear-wheel drive single-engine version with 340 hp.
  • Lyriq 2023 starts at $ 59,990 and will be open for orders from May 19.

Cadillac has detailed only the base single-engine transmission for the new one 2023 Lyriq electric SUV so far. But now we know that the dual-engine and all-wheel drive version will offer about 500 horsepower as Cadillac shared that figure on A question and answer session on Instagram today.

While the base single-engine Lyriq RWD power of 340 hp. costs from $ 59,990, we anticipate that the twin-engine option will cost a bit more. Its 500 horsepower, coming from the front and rear electric motors, will put it in strong competition with other EV SUV competitors, including the 469-hp. Audi e-tron S and 516-strong BMW iX xDrive50. We anticipate that the Lyriq AWD will use the same battery as the RWD model, which offers 100.0 kWh of usable power and, according to EPA estimates, a 312-mile range; a more powerful twin-engine version is likely to have a slightly lower range rating.

Cadillac will open orders for Lyriq 2023 from May 19, but the initial release will only include a single-engine version of the Lyriq Debut Edition, which only comes in silver or black and doesn’t offer many options. We don’t yet know the exact time when the twin-engine cars will appear, but Cadillac says it expects other versions of the Lyriq to go on sale this fall.
