Charged electric cars | Volvo Trucks will produce trucks with a new electronic rear axle

Volvo trucks has introduced a new electronic axle designed for the rear axle of its trucks. The company says the e-axle “enables even more battery packs on the truck by integrating the electric motors and transmission into the rear axle. More batteries means more range, which creates opportunities for long-distance electrification.”

“We will continue to build our versatile battery electric trucks,” says SVP of Global Product Management Jessica Sundström. “Currently, they can cover a wide range of transport tasks. In a few years, we will add this new electronic rear axle for customers who cover longer routes than today.”
