Ducati collaborates with Bulgari to create the coolest matte / aluminum chronograph on the ticket market. The goal of both sides, apparently, is to “Revolutionize the standards of luxury sports watches” – i.e.That’s a big goal, but let’s face it – you have to admit that there are worse ways to raise standards than introducing motorcycles to the field of choice (see A beautiful work by Triumph in collaboration with Breitling).
So let’s delve into the details and see what the luxurious Italian power has given us.
According to Ducati press releaseChronograph Bulgari Aluminum Ducati Special Edition “celebrates partnership between jewelry Maison and iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer”, debut video on Youtube marks this label as “The best Bulgari watch in history” (and an interesting ultimatum, given the proposals Bulgari … but it’s Ducati, so we will not judge).
“The Chronograph features a stunning Ducati red dial and three additional sporty-style dials, inspired by Ducati rev counter graphics: black background, white indexes and red sphere,” said in a press release.
You may also find that Ducati has inspired watch markers with a 40mm diameter aluminum case attached to a black rubber bracelet.
Titanium is a modern material made of universal metal, which is used to create the crown and pushers of the chronograph, as well as the back of the case (treated with anti-wear DLC).
The entire watch is waterproof to 100 meters, and the mechanical automatic mechanism guarantees tenths of a second, thanks to the technical characteristics of the BVL 130 with an automatic factory with a speed of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
(If nothing else convinces you that watches are designed to work with motorcycle manufacturers, the fact that watches talk about vibrations per hour – Vb / h – and bikes at kilometers per hour – km / h – should make you fall and look pretty boring in your next sticker, inspired by moto. Just say.)
Each of these watches is assigned a Ducati brand and production number, the packaging comes in a “special anodized aluminum case with a rubber inner coating and soft to the touch, with the signatures of two brands Ducati and Bulgari.”
You can imagine that both are involved in this pink tickling collaboration; Andrea Ferraresi, director of Ducati Centro Stile, did the following:
“Striving for ease, obsessive attention to detail, the use of exquisite materials and the creation of a distinctive and immediately recognizable design – these are the values that inspired us to this project.”
“Working on this project with Fabrizio Buanamassa Stigliani, executive director of Bulgari, which I have known for 15 years, has been a way to combine our hobbies: motorcycles and high-end watchmaking.”
As for Fabrizio Buanamassi Stiliani, executive director of Bulgari’s product development, he is said to have enjoyed the project.
“I was very pleased to once again visit the Ducati factory in Borg Panigal in Italy and discuss with Andrea Ferrarezi, discussing the many parallels between motorcycles and watches, our shared passion for the beauty of mechanics and the Italian approach to design.”
“For this special collaboration, the Bulgari Aluminum model has become a natural choice due to the combination of materials, sportiness and iconic appearance.”
Be sure to look at your watch Bulgari web pagewhere the price is currently $ 5,000 is definitely the highest price tag, but since both brands are luxury labels, we were expecting something around that mark.
