In a 15-minute session dedicated to training on the oval track, Hamlin led all 20 riders with an average lap speed of 187,252 miles per hour.
Kyle Larsson took second place (186.825 miles per hour), and teammate Joe Gibbs on Racing, Kyle Bush, was third (186.793 miles per hour).
Ryan Blaney and Martin Trueks Jr. close the top five.
Among those drivers who ran at least 10 laps in a row, Larson had the fastest average speed (185.017 miles per hour). He was followed in this category by Hamlin, Blaney and Kurt Bush respectively
The teams also received a five-minute training session to run off the pit road, which will be part of one-on-one battles to determine the final start order in qualifying on Saturday night.

Tyler Radzik, who just won Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, has exceeded a 15-minute workout for cars that competed in Sunday’s Star Open.
Radish’s average speed was 185.828 miles per hour. He was followed by Eric Jones (185.739 mph) and Daniel Suarez (185.382 mph). Ricky Stanhouse Jr. and Justin Haley finished in the top five.
