Shanghai (Gasgoo) – Dongfeng Motor Corporation announced today through its WeChat account that its technology center has made new breakthroughs in battery power system research and development.

The automaker said its new battery system is capable of offering a full-vehicle CLTC range of more than 1,000 km after undergoing real-vehicle tests conducted on vehicle models being developed on Dongfeng Motor’s strategic new energy vehicle (NEV) platform.

Thanks in part to Dongfeng Motor’s patented high-efficiency assembly technology, the new battery system is capable of delivering an energy density of more than 230 Wh/kg.

In addition, this battery power system uses an intelligent all-weather battery safety management system that ensures millisecond response speed. With high-precision SOX evaluation and lithium dendrite self-healing technologies, the battery system features greatly improved service life, human-machine interaction experience, and range calculation accuracy to effectively alleviate users’ range concerns.

According to the automaker, the new battery power system uses a high-strength aluminum alloy frame to provide first-order modality greater than 60 Hz. Thanks to the optimization of the structural topology, the structure of the battery pack is more durable.

In addition, the energy battery system also uses a fire extinguishing system as part of the approaches to guarantee safety.
