Despite a very advantageous position on the road, returned to Toyota Sebastien Ogier could not match the pace of his teammate Evans on the Loose, taking fifth place, as he admitted that “started badly on stage.”
Dani Sorda was the last Rally1 car to start but failed to take advantage of the ideal position on the road, finishing eight seconds off the pace and remaining 11th after his mistake on the super-special Coimbra track.
The nominated M-Sport scorers were tough compared to Greensmith and Loubet on LousĂ£. Craig Brin was only 11th fastest, but retains sixth place, at 0.3 seconds.
Sebastian Loeb, who ran fourth on the road, was able to score only the eighth fastest time and occupies the same position in the overall standings, a draw with Takamoto Katsuta.
Championship leader Calais Ravanpera closes the top 10, battling to sweep the road like the first car on the road.
