Beijing (Gasgoo) – On November 28, FAW-Toyota, a joint venture between FAW Group and Toyota Motor, held an event to celebrate its 10 millionth vehicle rolling off the assembly line.

The important vehicle is Toyota’s first bZ series new energy vehicle introduced in China, namely the bZ4X. The high-quality battery electric model has rolled off the assembly line at the joint venture’s recently opened new energy vehicle factory.

Located in Tianjin’s Binhai New District, the plant is FAW-Toyota’s fifth production base for complete vehicles. The new factory, dedicated to energy vehicles, is built according to Toyota’s e-TNGA architecture and equipped with the Japanese automaker’s latest BEV platform. The design capacity of the plant is 200,000 vehicles per year.

The New Energy Vehicle Plant in Tianjin covers an area of ​​1.97 million square meters. In addition to the normal car manufacturing process of stamping, welding, painting, forming, assembly and inspection, the factory also introduced a battery workshop. The plant boasts a high level of automation, intelligence, efficiency, flexibility with respect to its production lines, which supports the possibility of mixed production of cars, SUVs, MPVs and other vehicle models.
