Jay Lena and Ford revealed an F-150 Lightning pickup truck done with the same paint and color as the then president and CEO of WalMart’s first a truck1979 year F-150. The discovery occurred on the side of the road during the 2022 run Woodward Dream Cruise in front of a small crowd of spectators.

Like Walton’s F-150, Leno’s new Lightning gets a two-tone red and white paint scheme. It has gray wheels and a gray Lightning-style grille, and overall it looks like an exact replica of Walton’s old truck, minus most of the chrome and a custom cab—Ford doesn’t offer Lightning in anything but a Crew Cab, so it’s impossible to replicate. However, Len’s new Lightning features a doghouse in the back of the truck, similar to what Walton used as an avid hunter.

What’s not like Walton’s pickup truck is how feature-rich it is. The pickup truck owned by WalMart’s founder was as simple as the base. It didn’t even have air conditioning. We don’t have photos of the new truck’s interior yet, but the Lightning’s screen-heavy internals look nothing like what you’d find in an F-150 back in 1979.
