Ford Motor Co. adds a new package to the 2023 F-150 pickup for budget-conscious shoppers who still want an off-road hit.
Starting this fall, the automaker will offer the Rattler package for the entry-level finish of the F-150 XL. It contains content from the FX4 package, such as anti-skid plates, electronic rear differential lock, descent control, specially tuned off-road shock absorbers and all-terrain tires.
The look features F-150 Rattler badges on the wing vents as well as “graphics inspired by a rattlesnake,” Ford said Tuesday. Inside there are seats made of onyx with polished bronze accents.
Closer to the launch, Ford will provide detailed pricing information.
“Our new F-150 Rattler offers adventurers an off-road option with a clear look and features in one kit,” said Todd Eckert, marketing manager for Ford’s truck group. “This truck is based on the F-150’s off-road heritage, allowing us to introduce new customers to the right combination of style and price in the F-150 line.”
In recent years, the automaker has expanded its offerings for off-road vehicles for pickups and utilities by expanding Raptor and Tremor options as well as adding finishes, for example Timberline to the Leader and Expedition.
