Route:
The scene is clearly divided into two parts. It begins flatly along the Adriatic State, where the main obstacles along the course are those commonly found in urban areas. Conversely, in the second half the route passes in a sequence of easy and steep climbs or even “walls”, without pausing to breathe. As the profile changes, the roads become narrower and steeper, the points are slightly damaged. The course is followed by successive ascents to Civitano Alto (to Croquet di Montecozaro), Reconati, Filotrano, Santa Maria Nova and Monsoon. For Monsoon the finish will be only 9 km.

The winner of the stage, Benjamin Girmai (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux): “I started the Giro out of a desire to win the stage. Everyone on the team pulled for me today, even the GC riders, Domenico Pazaviva was awesome at the end. For 600 meters he said, “Go.” He pushed me to go and win. I understand that I am making history, but it is thanks to my team and my family. I am very grateful to them. “

Maglia Rosa Juan Pedro Lopez Perez (Segafred’s track): “Today was like a race for GC. No one expected such a race. It was very difficult. I’m glad I managed to save Maglia Rosa. From the side of the road I realized it was a scene dedicated to Michele Scarponi. It was touching. “
