“Better than wearing a yellow T-shirt” – Julia Chicone won the Giro stage
Giulia Chicone won the Sunday mountain stage of the Giro d’Italia, which finished in Cannes. Climber Trek-Segafredo, who single-handedly covered the last 18 kilometers, was the best of the leading group of 25 riders in stage 15. This is Chicone’s third victory at the Giro. There were no problems with Richard Karapaz’s pink T-shirt. Only Guillaume Martin managed to catch up with the other favorites.

Route:
A colossal alpine stage through the Aosta Valley. Initially, the route passes through Canavese and the Dora Baltea Valley, all the way to Aosta. The milestone course then takes three long consecutive climbs to Pila, Verron and Horse. For more than 10 km each, these climbs go along wide and well-paved roads with a number of hairpins in between. Each is followed by a rapid descent with the same features. At a distance of more than 22 km, the abrupt final ascent eventually becomes a long fake, all the way to the finish.
Final kilometers
Over the last 4 km, from the center of the Horse (with a small piece of tile) all the way to the finish line, the gradient fluctuates around 2.5% (rising slightly outside the Horse). The length of the home line is 300 meters.
