Ace Andretti Autosport-Honda, who last month won the GMR Grand Prix in Indianapolis with 16th on the net, mileage of 2,439 miles in 70.5574 seconds, an average speed of 124.443 miles per hour – about 0.1 seconds slower than the fastest time in the first practice of the Grand Prix.

However, the relevance of these times is somewhat questionable. The fastest laps of drivers took place on sets of tires designed for Barber Motorsports Park, and the tires to be used in the second road race of the season in India, to be held on July 29-30, were a bit slower.

Alexander Rossi, who will leave Andretti Autosport at Arrow McLaren SP-Chevrolet later this season, was second in speed, 0.19 seconds slower than Hertha, but slightly ahead of the drivers of his next team, Pat O’Ward and Felix Rosenquist.

Ramon Grosjean and Devlin De Francesca were 0.58 and 0.84 seconds behind their team-mate, however, ahead of their future team-mate Kyle Kirkwood, who is now at AJ Foyt Racing-Chevrolet.

Simone De Sylvester of Paretta Autosport, who returned to the IndyCar road course two weeks ago on Road America, has had great success in returning to the swing of outdoor car racing, even considering the fact that she was on a much shorter track today. Her best lap was within 1.3 seconds of Hertha’s best time.

The next IndyCar race, the ninth round of the 2022 season, will take place in 10 days on a sports car track in mid-Ohio.
