Honda CB300R vs CB300F: Price, Specs, Design and Equipment Comparison

Honda has introduced the CB300F motorcycle in India and they already have another streetfighter, the CB300R, on sale.

Honda recently launched the CB300F in the Indian market. After that, many people wondered why Honda went through all the trouble to make another bike when they already have the CB300R. Although the name is similar, there are quite a few differences between both the bikes. Here is a comparison between the Honda CB300R and the recently launched CB 300F.

Honda CB300R vs CB300F: Design

The design of both motorcycles is radically different. The CB300R is a neo-retro motorcycle, while the CB300F is a naked street fighter. CB300F got a clear body with an aggressive headlight. On the other hand, the CB300R has smooth body panels along with a circular headlight.

Both bikes have 300 in the name, but that doesn’t mean the bikes use the same engine. There is a big difference between both the engines. The only similarity is that they are single-cylinder engines mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch.

The CB300F uses a 293cc single-cylinder engine that is SOHC and oil-cooled. It produces 24.2 hp. of maximum power and 25.6 Nm of maximum torque.

Then there’s the CB300R, which gets a 286cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine. It produces 31.1 hp. of maximum power and 27.5 Nm of maximum torque.

Honda CB300R vs CB300F: Equipment

In terms of equipment, both bikes are very close to each other. Both come with a diamond-shaped frame, inverted forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The CB300R’s front disc brake is larger at 296mm, while the CB300F’s front disc is 276mm. The rear disc of both motorcycles has a size of 220 mm. Both come with dual-channel ABS, but the CB300R gets an IMU.

Honda CB300R vs CB300F: Price

CB300R price ₹2.77 lakhs (ex-showroom). The DLX variant of the CB300F is worth the price ₹2.26 lakh (ex-showroom) whereas the DLX Pro variant costs ₹2.29 lakhs (ex-showroom). So the CB300R costs more, but it also comes with a more refined engine and better equipment.
