Royal Enfield has shown impressive growth. One reason is the new bikes on the new J platform.
Royal Enfield on Thursday announced its August 2022 sales figures. The brand reported 53 percent growth with sales of 45,860 units in August 2021 and 70,112 units in August 2022. Since the beginning of the year, the manufacturer has reported growth of 47 percent. Royal Enfield sold 213,538 units in 2021-22 and 312,872 units in 2022-23.
Royal Enfield’s domestic sales figures for August 2021 are 38,572 units.In August 2022, this number increased by 61 percent to 62,236 units. Exports also increased from 7,288 units to 7,876 units during the same period. This is an increase of 8.1 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, sales in the domestic market have increased from 182,681 to 264,376. These figures are for the years 2021-2022 and 2022-23, respectively. Thus, sales in the domestic market increased by 45 percent. Exports also increased by 57 percent over the same period. In 2021-22, the number of sales was 30,857 units and in 2022-23, they increased to 48,496 units.
One of the main reasons for the growth is the launch of new bikes on the J platform. The Classic Reborn, Meteor 350 and the recently launched Hunter 350 have been very well received by the general public.
Royal Enfield currently has eight motorcycles in its lineup. Apart from the J-platform bikes, there is the Scram 411, Himalayan, Continental GT 650, Interceptor 650 and Bullet.
Royal Enfield is also working on many new motorcycles. There will be a new Scrambler and Himalayan, which will use an all-new 450cc liquid-cooled engine. The manufacturer is also working on the new Bullet 350, which will be based on the J platform. There are new 650cc bikes, some of which will be launched by the end of this year and the rest next year. Finally, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 should be updated this year.
