Release date and price of iPhone 14 Pro Max
Our best guess is when the iPhone 14 Pro Max – and the rest of the iPhone 14 line – will be announced – on September 13th. pointed to this date.
So far only one source, so we would have taken it with a pinch of salt, but there were no other specific dates, and September 13 would be very reasonable, as in recent years Apple has always announced new iPhone numbers. mid-September, and usually on Tuesday, which falls on September 13th.
But this is not the time when you will be able to get your hands on the phone – expect it to be shipped in about 10 days, probably Friday, September 23rd.
However, although these dates seem likely, there is a possibility that they are wrong, especially since the blockades in China appear to be put production a few weeks behind. Although Apple is reportedly looking to return to the schedule.
As for price, one source suggests we could look at similar prices for the iPhone 13 linewhich would mean a starting price of around $ 1,099 / £ 1,049 / 1,849 Australian dollars for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
However, another source claims a future phone will start at $ 1,199 (about £ 955/1665 Australian dollars) – that is $ 100 (about £ 80/140 Australian dollars) more than iPhone 13 Pro Max. The price increase would definitely be likely given the number of updates expected on this phone.
IPhone 14 Pro Max design
The iPhone 14 Pro Max may not look like any previous iPhone, as Apple is reportedly getting rid of the notch. We have heard this from a number of sources, from the earliest starting in Septemberand including the visualization you can see below.
This image indicates that there is a small cutout for the camera at the location of the notch, like many Android phones. There is also much less protruding camera on the back, and for this the phone, apparently, is made thicker.
The source adds that the frame is apparently made of titanium, not stainless steel – which we did heard more than once.
This original leak comes from John Prosser, but a number of other high-profile leaks, such as Min-Chi Kuo and Mark Gourmet has since also said that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have no notches.
However, some of the details in the visualization above now sound as if they may be wrong, because instead of having one camera, a number of sources now to offer The iPhone 14 Pro Max will have two – a small one with a hole and a larger one in the shape of a tablet next to it. You can see what it might look like in a leak schematic and in leak CAD (computer aided design) renders below.
One of these images also shows a large camera protrusion on the back, and this may be more accurate as leakage circuit suggests that the rear camera unit will actually be larger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max – no less than the initial leak was stated above.
IPhone 14 Pro Max display
While the iPhone 14 Pro Max seems like it could be a big upgrade in many ways, its screen may not be one of them, with Ross Young – Leaked with a good track record – claims to have a 6.68-inch 1284 x 2778 OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 458 pixels per inch. These features make it identical to the iPhone 13 Pro Max display.
We also heard from Min-Chi Kuo that future phone will have a 6.7-inch screenand we didn’t expect Apple to resize because it’s not that common.
It’s still possible that some display details will change, such as brightness, but for now it sounds like a screen on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Except, of course, that this time there probably won’t be a notch protruding from the top.
IPhone 14 Pro Max Camera
It looks like the camera is tuned for a big upgrade on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, as instead of the main (wide) 12MP sensor on its predecessor, this phone will reportedly get 48MP. This is according to respected analyst Min-Chi Kuo, who has made the statement several times, but another analyst is also now repeated this statement.
Apparently, this camera will be able to record 8K video (compared to 4K on the iPhone 13 Pro Max) and be joined by two other cameras. We’ve heard less about the other two, but they may well be the same as before, meaning an ultra-wide 12-megapixel and 12-megapixel telephoto that offers 3x optical zoom.
There were some conversations chamber with periscope capable of 5x optical zoom, but the current consensus seems to be that it won’t be ahead of next year’s iPhone 15 lineup.
iPhone 14 Pro Max features and specifications
It is reported that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have an A16 Bionic chipset, which is not surprising since the current model has an A15 Bionic.
It is less clear how much this new chipset will be updated. Although some sources suggest it may be made at 4 nm or even the 3 nm process – compared to 5 nm for the A15 Bionic – is the latest leak indicates that it sticks to 5 nm.
Smaller numbers are better here, and switching to a smaller number usually indicates a significant increase in power and / or efficiency, but even if it stays at 5nm, it’s sure to see some improvement.
RAM meanwhile can be either holds at 6GB or increases to 8 GB depending on who you ask. We heard claims about 6GB more than once however, so now it looks more likely.
Storage can get a big boost, though, potentially complementing 2 TV. That’s twice as much as you can get in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Another possible but less likely change use eSIM instead of physical SIM. Current iPhones have both, and if Apple takes that step, there will likely be versions of the iPhone 14 Pro Max that support physical SIM cards, as not all mobile networks even support eSIM.
IPhone 14 Pro Max battery
iPhone 14 Pro Max may have a larger battery According to one source, than its predecessor, however, it is unclear how much larger. However, this is a promising statement, as the iPhone 13 Pro Max already has a great battery life.
In the realm of unlikely features meanwhile there were rumbles transition from Lightning to USB-C. This is likely to happen in the end – especially now in the EU has made this a requirement since 2024 – but we doubt we’ll see it on the iPhone 14 line.
At some point in the future there has also been talk of a non-sporty iPhone that will only support wireless charging, but it is unlikely that Apple will go that far for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
