The nameplate Crown is one of Toyota’s oldest, even though most Americans are unfamiliar with the last name. After decades of being used for Toyota sedans in Japan, the name will soon return to our market as a hybrid SUV that will be more expensive than any of Toyota’s current crossovers, reports report from Reuters.
The report says the crown will be more expensive Sequoiawhen its starting price is in the $ 50,000 range, we don’t think it will be more than this full-size truck model. If we guessed, then we think the Crown will be a one-size-fits-all crossover with more luxury. It is reported that it will offer hybrid, hybrid and electric transmissions, although we are not sure whether all of these options will end up in the US
The current Crown (pictured above) is a rear-wheel drive sedan that is sold only in Japan, so it is clear that the model will significantly change its new generation. We expect the new Crown SUV to look completely different, even though it shares a name with this line of rugged four-door. The Crown was the first Toyota model sold in the U.S. since the late 1950s, but it was later discontinued on our shores when Toyota began selling the Corona and Wreath models here.
