Watch website for enthusiasts An hour and watchmaker Timex both are known for several killer collaborations and the latest is their second look at the popular Q series of vintage-style quartz watches. This type of limited-edition collaboration is known to sell out quickly — and, at least in our opinion, it’s one of the best-looking versions of the Q. And there’s still a chance to snag one.

Although we’re talking about quartz watches under $200, the Q is built for vintage watch lovers with all the hallmarks and history they’re sure to appreciate. That’s a big part of its popularity, and it suggests that (along with the affordable price) the same features could appeal to a wider audience than just hardcore collectors. Building on the foundation of the Q, the Hodinkee team’s taste and hours of experience push the concept even further.

The Q Timex Vintage Hodinkee Limited Edition is 38mm wide and 11.5mm thick. It has a diving style bezel, but the watch is only water resistant to 50m.

The base version of the Timex Q Reissue is presented here in a metallic monochromatic finish. That alone makes for a killer look, but other little touches include the criss-cross dial pattern and the centerpiece of the design: a pie-shaped dial. This is a feature that collectors like vintage formal clock from the 1950s and 60s, which refers to a dial that slopes down, offering considerable visual depth and interest.

Other touches worth noting are the applied indexes, like the other Q’s, and the “hatched” texture on the dial between them. The Hodinkee brand is right there on the dial, but not in an obnoxious way. The bracelet is the same style as some of the other Q Timexes and has a great vintage look to it in addition to being expandable, meaning it stretches over the hand instead of using a clasp that opens and closes. Since they’re limited edition, they won’t last forever, so now’s your chance to own one of the coolest Timex Q watches around.
