Kia India today inaugurated India’s fastest 240kWh EV charger at its Incheon Kia dealership in Kochi. This comes after the company installed a 150 kWh car charger in Gurgaon in July 2022. Customers can avail this charging facility at the Kochi dealership on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Kia India says it will also “meet the charging needs of other OEMs’ electric vehicles through these charging stations.”
According to Myung-Sik Son, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, “These are exciting times for EVs and we are committed to not only being a part of the EV mobility revolution in India, but also making EV ownership desirable, affordable and inclusive. Our electric car journey in India doesn’t stop there. In fact, we are in the process of building more charging stations at our EV dealerships across the country, providing the best customer service and reducing the charging time and range issues that typically plague EV customers.”
On June 2, 2022, Kia India launched its first all-electric vehicle – the EV6 – which is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The Kia EV6 offers a range of 528 km on a full charge and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW charger. As part of its EV roadmap, Kia will launch its India-focused EV in the country by 2025.
