On the wave of a new era for the Korean automaker, Kia launches its fastest production car: the 576 HP EV6 GT. The new GT EV6 will be available in showrooms from the end of this year.

Kia adheres to its parent company, Hyundaifollowing in his footsteps with his own the latest electrical release. But this is not just a new electric car from Kia. This EV is a monster.

The 576 horsepower Kia EV6 GT can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 161 mph. In fact, according to an independent test by AMCI, The EV6 GT outpaced the Ferrari Roma and the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder.

To handle this performance, the new EV supercar comes with a dual e-AWD engine that powers all four wheels.

A 77.4kWh battery packs a 160kW front motor and a 270kW rear motor for a combined 576bhp and 546lb ft of torque. By comparison, the Ferrari Roma has about 561 pound-feet of torque.

The new Kia electric car also features 15-inch front and 14.2-inch disc brakes with four-piston front calipers, a strengthened chassis and electrically controlled suspension for optimal performance.

The EV6 GT sits on 21-inch wheels and the exterior includes neon accents. Inside, Kia aims for a sporty vibe with racing seats and a neon green dashboard.

Kia’s EV6 GT boosts electric performance

Kia has gone all out with the EV6 GT. The Korean automaker includes various driving modes, including GT driving mode, My driving mode and Drift mode, in addition to the standard options (Eco, Normal, Sport and Snow).

GT Drive Mode boosts the car’s performance by tuning the engines, brakes, steering, suspension and traction to optimal settings.

Stephen Center, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Kia America, praised the new chapter of the automaker, saying:

The EV6 GT opens the next chapter in Kia’s Plan S electrification story, elevating the EV6’s exciting performance and easy handling beyond expectations.

He added:

The drive towards our zero tailpipe emission goals has never been so exciting.

Perhaps most importantly, Kia’s new EV model includes 800V DC fast charging capabilities that can charge the battery to 10-18% in less than 18 minutes.

The Kia EV6 GT will hit dealerships in Q4 when it goes on sale nationwide. Pricing will be announced prior to launch. Kia said all EV6 GT buyers will receive a 1,000kWh charging credit at Electrify America stations.
