Lincoln unveiled the L100 concept as part of a celebration of its brand identity during Monterey Auto Week. The long, low EV represents the socially amiable autonomous vehicle of the future. Created to celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary, the long doors and bubble roof open like a flower for ease of entry, and the cabin features a checkerboard-like central controller instead of a steering wheel.
Acura has announced that its first electric crossover will be called the ZDX, followed by the performance-oriented ZDX Type S. The ZDX was the name of the coupe crossover that was produced from 2010 to 2013, and now it will grace the electric SUV that Acura developed with the help of General Motors. Expect it to arrive in 2024.
Porsche is developing a high-performance hydrogen-powered engine as a possible means of cleaning up carbon emissions from the internal combustion engine. The company produced 590 hp. on hydrogen using a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8. Challenges in using hydrogen include the infrastructure required, avoiding the emission of harmful nitrogen oxides and increasing the air pressure created by the turbo to produce equivalent power.
