American luxury carmaker Lincoln is claiming the future of premium driving with its new Model L100 EV concept. Lincoln is releasing an electric concept car to pay homage to the 1922 Model L, the first luxury car in history.

While Lincoln has big plans for an electrified future, the brand lags behind many of its premium competitors.

In April, the car factory presented its first electric car the Lincoln Star EV SUV concept. At the time, Lincoln also told us about its plans for an electric future.

According to Lincoln, the automaker expects to produce half of the world’s volume with electric vehicles by 2025. In addition, it plans to electrify its entire fleet by the end of the decade, despite the fact that they do not yet have a fully electric car on the road.

Meanwhile, Lincoln’s parent company, Ford, is gaining strong momentum with its line of electric cars. In fact, Ford is sells its electric carsThe Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E are as fast as it makes them.

Lincoln takes us into the future with the Lincoln Model L100 EV concept

Lincoln gives us a glimpse into the future of the brand liberation concept model L100 EV.

Lincoln President Joy Falotica talks about the company’s next chapter, saying:

Over the past 100 years, Lincoln has pioneered many innovations and pushed the boundaries of design that define our brand as we know and love it today. With the L100 concept model, we’re reimagining what a Lincoln shelter can look like for our customers of tomorrow, moving us forward to define the next chapter in Lincoln’s history.

The L100 EV model is designed as an autonomous vehicle (AV) focused on digital communication. Although Lincoln didn’t elaborate further, the concept car will use “next-generation battery cell and battery pack technology.”

It will have an interactive jewel-style chess piece controller (pictured below) on the center console. In the new design, the pearl replaces the steering wheel for an “intuitive and easy” driving experience.

The front row seats will also be able to swivel to connect with passengers in the back seats. In fact, the entire interior is focused on an immersive, connected experience.

On the inside, it will include intuitive lighting and a digital floor that users can customize for a personalized experience. Lincoln’s designers created the L100 EV with luxurious, animal-free materials.

The exterior will include matte acrylic instead of chrome with metallic paint. It also has an interesting feature when you walk up to a vehicle, the L100 model can sense your approach and light up when you pass it.

All in all, the Lincoln L100 EV is unlike anything we’ve seen on the road so far.
