The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio comes with a completely redesigned front grille and new headlights.

Mahindra everyone is ready to participate in the long-awaited version of the facelift of 2022 Scorpio SUV to India. The automaker is expected to debut the SUV in the next few weeks, with a launch likely to take place later this year. This will be the third flagship SUV from Mahindra, which is undergoing major design changes after the new generation Tar and XUV700 debuted in the last couple of years.

The new generation Mahindra Scorpio SUV will be significantly different from the old Scorpio models in several departments. From looks to features and transmissions, the new Scorpio offers a massive upgrade over the existing model. Here’s what will change and what won’t change in the next-generation Mahindra Scorpio SUV.

Design

The appearance of the Scorpio will be very different from the older generation models. In front of the Scorpio facelift will get new elements, such as a vertical grille, on the sides of the C-shaped LED DRL with fog lights. Mahindra will use a double-barreled headlight, on the sides of which is a chrome base. The new Scorpio will also have a new set of wheels that are likely to be 18 inches in size. However, unlike the XUV700, the new Scorpio may not have a grip design.

One leaked image of a 2022 Scorpio SUV also shows a rear end with a redesigned rear door that folds to the side. The bottom rear bumper has a fairly flat profile, unlike the previous model. In addition, there are two reversing lights on both sides of the bumper and a chrome strip that connects them both.

Interior

The interior of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is also likely to get a new dashboard with an updated infotainment system. In addition, previous spy images hint that the new Scorpio will use a fully digital instrument console as well as controls mounted on the steering wheel. The center console is also likely to get rotary knobs to change vehicle drive and traction modes.

Features

The new generation Scorpio SUV will be a much richer option than previous models. It will be offered with features such as an 8-inch digital touchscreen display, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera and a sunroof.

Engine

Mahindra is likely to drive the 2022 Scorpio with the existing 2.0-liter four-cylinder mStallion petrol and 2.2-liter four-cylinder mHawk diesel engines. The same engines are also used in the Thar and XUV700. The engines are likely to be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed AT torque converter. The car will also have a 4×4 option to match its Sport Utility accounts.
