We all know this feeling, and it’s not very enjoyable – watching your friends play while you’re stuck at home and doing your homework.
Welcome to the world of Teemu Suninen, but not for long. Twenty-five weeks and 172 days since he last competed in the World Rally Championship, Suninen is back in Rally Portugal ahead of a full-fledged campaign with Hyundai at WRC2.
DirtFish caught up with Finn on Sunday, the day after his pre-event test, to find out how he feels about what could eventually become a pretty important season.
After all, 2021 Suninen was a bit chaotic. The start of the season with the fastest cuts in Monte Carlo was magical until it was. Perhaps trying too hard to impress, the M-Sport driver shunted at the end of the very first leg of the year and won’t play a further role over the weekend.
