STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A line of hoppy beers is about to land on Staten Island. Martial artist and bodyguard-turned-actor Chuck Zito is behind the new Rydz microbrewery, soon to be released on the South Shore.

Zito and entrepreneur Vincent Viola will launch the product on Saturday, August 20. Zito fans are invited to a meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. at Franks Wholesale Distributors at 240 Page Ave., Richmond Valley.

A four-pack of Rydz is $17.99. Businessman Frank Aversa is promoting a new brew, a 7.3% ABV IPA, through City Lights Productions. It was brewed at Beach Haus, a boutique brewer from Belmar, NJ that specializes in cloudy IPAs.

He said: “Rydz has a citrus flavor with a slight hint of grapefruit. This is a small batch IPA with a well-balanced flavor—unique in every way!”
