Let’s start with the AMG Aerodynamics package, which is the only update for the Edition 55 that makes a noticeable difference in how the car moves through the air. The aero package adds a front apron with a large front splitter, an AMG rear wing, new deflectors on simulated rear apron side air ducts and a diffuser blade. New forms of wind improve the car’s water performance at high speeds, Mercedes said, but even when sitting still, they will offer glossy black accents that match many visual changes.
This list includes the AMG Night and AMG Night Pack II, which give a glossy black look to the front splitter and trim elements such as AMG side sill inserts, window trim and exterior mirror housings. Black chrome can be found on the exhaust pipe and blinds in the front grille, while other AMG emblems on the side of the car come in a variety of gray or transparent to fit wherever they are. The CLA45 Edition 55 uses 19-inch AMG forged wheels with matte gray cross spokes and, surprisingly, another design element of the “Edition 55”.
The interior has been redesigned in black and red, which is the theme for the Edition 55 line. The CLA45 Edition 55 has red lettering with illumination on the doorsteps, red and black carpets and AMG Performance seats upholstered in two-tone red and black nappa leather. Also part of the deal is the individual AMG Indoor car cover.
Mercedes-AMG’s global birthday celebration has also given the world – that is, different markets – versions 55 of the A35, A45, CLA35 and G63. The Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 2022 was announced for the US in March (limited to 55 units) and this model got a unique look and a red and black interior with lots of “55” references.
Mercedes has not yet announced prices for the CLA45 Edition 55 in the US, but we can assume that the approximate premium price will be based on special models that will be available in Germany. There 55 versions of the CLA45 4Matic and CLA45 S 4Matic are available for an additional fee of $ 13,100 to $ 14,870, depending on the transmission.
