- Mercedes introduces a new special version of the G-wagen called the Edition 550.
- It comes in red, gray or white and has black bumpers and fenders as well as a special badge.
- The interior has a more refined leather and carbon fiber finish.
The G-car briefly left the Mercedes-Benz lineup along with most other automaker models from the V-8, but now it’s back and added an exclusive special edition. The 200 units of the G-class Edition 550 will ship to the US and will have several changes to the look as well as special badges.
The Edition 550 is based on the non-AMG G550 model with a 4.0-liter 4.0-liter V-8 twin-turbocharged 416-liter. AMG G63. It will be offered in Jupiter red, Arabic gray or a new shade called Moonlight White. Instead of body-colored bumpers of the standard model and deciphered fenders, the Edition 550 has a black bottom trim. The wheels look the same as the black 20-inch 14-spoke AMG wheels that are available as an option for the standard model.
The cabin features two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim and options including a massage front seat. There is also a badge on the handle of the passenger, which indicates a special edition 1 of 200, and a similar emblem on the front fenders with a cool image of a G-wagen that climbs the mountain.
Mercedes has not yet announced the price of the Edition 550, but we believe it will be at least $ 150,000, given the price of the equivalent G550 with these upgrades.
