Mercedes’ head of design teases the Maybach SL concept, promising wealth at its best

The Mercedes-Maybach SL has been designed for customers who want sophisticated luxury driving and design, according to head of design at Daimler AG.

The head of design at Daimler AG, Gorden Wagener, has published an online publication about Mercedes-Maybach SL. This will be the next major model of the Maybach subbrand. It is likely to appear on the market in 2023, it will accompany Maybach EQS too. apparently, the luxury German car brand continues to push for overhauls of its product portfolio.

Posting the image on social media, Wagener wrote that it is a representation of the Mercedes-Maybach SL concept, which reveals more about the future capabilities of the car company’s most exclusive brand. He also said that the Mercedes-Maybach SL was designed for customers who want exquisite luxury driving and design. Obviously, the car promises wealth at its best, like any other model with the Maybach brand from Mercedes-Benz.

The picture-teaser about the car shows little, except for the hood, front grille and windshield. The hood is finely printed with the Maybach logo, while the prominent theme is red and black. The front grille also has a Maybach corporate identity with chrome trim and vertical slats along with the Maybach inscription. In addition, the image does not show anything significant about the car.

Mercedes-Maybach SL is part of the Maybach series of models, in line with the strategy of the German luxury car brand to revise its product portfolio to become the world’s most valuable luxury car brand. The automaker plans to invest 75 percent of its investment in larger and more expensive luxury cars with higher returns.

According to this strategy, Mercedes-Benz most likely to abandon compact models. The car brand aims to reduce its luxury portfolio from seven to four models. However, the automaker has not yet confirmed which entry-level models will be phased out as part of this revision strategy.
