New Delhi, November 28: MG is busy working on an updated version of its Astor and its electric avatar – the ZS EV. Patent images of the MG Astor facelift have hit the net.
According to reports, the MG Astor will receive significant changes. A set of leaked images reveal a refreshed front fascia with a new grille design, headlights, updated front bumper and new larger air intakes. On the other hand, the Astor’s all-electric counterpart called the ZS EV is expected to get the same facelift elements. However, it gets a shrouded front grille and differently styled alloy wheels for a more sporty appeal and to make it stand out. The side profiles of the cars seem to have been preserved from the current model.
The MG Astor is currently offered with a choice of two engines – a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with a maximum power of 138bhp and 230Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with a power output of 109bhp and 144Nm of torque. . In the Indian car market, the MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3 kWh battery and powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 174 horsepower and 353 Nm of maximum torque. The ZS EV’s battery provides a maximum range of 461 km on a single charge, while it is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds.
