Growing Morgan Automotive Group, one of the largest private dealerships in the U.S., has acquired two more stores in its hometown of Tampa, Florida, adding a couple of domestic dealerships to its lineup.

Morgan Automotive bought Jim Browne Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram Tampa Bay and Jim Browne Chevrolet Tampa from dealer Jim Brown. The transaction date was not available immediately.

Stores will be renamed Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram from Tampa Bay and Morgan Chevrolet from Tampa Bay. They mark the group’s 54th and 55th dealerships, 23 of which are in the Tampa area.

This was stated by CEO of Morgan Automotive Brett Morgan Automotive news in an email Wednesday that the group wanted to buy the stores because they were in “our backyard in Tampa” and close to recent dealers ’acquisitions. Morgan said the purchase also means Chevy’s first subway dealership. He said there is an opportunity to increase sales of used cars at both dealerships.
