SHANGHAI – Nio Inc. said on Saturday that it had suspended production after China’s measures to contain the recent surge in COVID-19 cases disrupted key suppliers.
“Since March, due to the epidemic, the company’s supply partners in several places, including Jilin, Shanghai and Jiangsu, have suspended production one by one and have not yet resumed,” the company said in a mobile app.
“Because of the consequences of that Nio had to stop production of cars.
The Chinese manufacturer will postpone the supply of EV to users and will work with suppliers to seek recovery while meeting COVID’s government restrictions, he added.
