The new facility will play an important role in connecting Norway to NIO’s future charging and battery replacement network in Europe, the automaker said.
On May 6, 2021, NIO officially announced its entry into the Norwegian market, signaling the start of an offensive abroad. The delivery to users of NIO ES8 started in the country on September 30 last year.
The first NIO House in Norway, located in the country’s capital Oslo, opened to the public on October 1, 2021.
In January of this year, the company celebrated the launch of its first battery exchange station in Norway, as well as a BaaS (Battery as a Service) model.
This year, NIO plans to roll out its cars and services to more European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.
In China, the electric car maker has deployed more than 1,060 battery replacement stations and 962 supercharging stations as of August 17, according to NIO on its official website.
