Okinawa will provide local development of the future product and its production line, and Tacita will provide the transmission – controller, engine, battery packs and BMS.

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Okinawa Autotech has partnered with Tacita, an Italian manufacturer of electric and production motorcycles, to set up a new company.

This joint venture will consist of both scooters and motorcycles for domestic and international markets. The company will be based in India and will start production in 2023 at the second Okinawan plant in Rajasthan.

Design work will be carried out in Italy, and road tests – in India and Italy. Okinawa will provide local development of the future product and its production line, and Tacita will provide the transmission – controller, engine, battery packs and BMS.

Jitender Sharma, MD and founder of Okinawa Autotech, said: “Tacita will help us create a market that meets the demand for futuristic technologies and products. Their advanced and futuristic technologies will also further expand and strengthen our existing product range. ”
