Jorge Martin (Ducati) broke the nine-year-old lap record set by Jorge Lorenzo at Phillip Island earlier today to take pole position for tomorrow’s MotoGP race. Marc Marquez (Honda) lapped Peco Banya (Ducati) in a perfect lap to finish second, ahead of Banya in third. Championship points leader Fabio Quartarara (Yamaha) qualified fifth.
