An amazing MotoGP race at Phillip Island earlier today saw the top seven riders finish within one second of each other. The frequent change of leaders at the front made for an exciting spectacle for the fans watching the race.

As a result, Alex Rins (Suzuki) crossed the finish line first, ahead of Marco Marquez (Honda) and Peco Banya (Ducati).

However, Bagnaia was the main winner as title rival Fabio Quartarara (Yamaha) crashed out of the race in the first laps (unscathed). Bagnaia now leads the championship by 14 points over Quartararo with two races remaining. Just five races ago, Quartarara had a 91-point championship lead that seemed insurmountable.
