BMW introduced hardcore version of M4 CSL yesterday, with more power and less weight than the regular M4. As could be predicted, the Bavarian automaker delivered it to the Nürburgring, where it showed an impressive 7-foot lap time of 20,206 inches, setting an all-time record among BMW’s production cars.
The car was driven by Jörg Weidinger, BMW driver and former European climbing champion. The official lap time was 7 feet 20,206 inches over the entire length of 20,832 km (12.9 miles) and 7 feet 15,677 inches for the shorter route of 20,600 km (12.8 miles).
That means the M4-focused track is 2.9 seconds faster than that Jaguar XE SV Project 8 2019, claiming the title of the fastest car in the middle segment at the Northern Life of the Nurburgring. It is also 6.6 seconds faster than bigger and more powerful Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic + 2021and 9.6 faster than Porsche Panamera Turbo 2021. Finally, when compared to the Italian rival, lap times were 16.3 seconds faster than y Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2016 although not yet tested Giulia GTAm would be a more suitable opponent.

The BMW M4 CSL is equipped with a customized version of the 3.0-liter double-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces 543 liters. (41 PS / 30 kW) compared to the M4 Competition. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
At the same time, the curb weight was reduced by 240 pounds (109 kg) compared to a standard car and amounted to 3640 pounds (1651 kg). According to BMW, the fastest M4 accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-96 km / h) in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 191 mph (307 km / h). Roadworthiness is enhanced by a more aggressive chassis installation, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and slightly improved aerodynamics.
All the above-mentioned upgrades, a limited number of 1,000 units and the title of “fastest BMW at the Nurburgring” are in vain. Prices for the M4 CSL start at $ 139,900 plus a fee of $ 995, which is almost twice the price of $ 74,900 for the regular M4 competition.
