The EQE SUV will go on sale in 2023. The facelifted EQE SUV with AMG was revealed on Sunday alongside the regular model and confirmed as a 2024 model, though there is no word on whether it will be available next year.

Pricing information will be announced closer to market launch next year.

While the EQS SUV is aimed at the full-size segment and should appeal to large families thanks to its third row of seats, the EQE SUV is aimed at more mainstream buyers with its mid-size stature and two rows of seats. At 191.6 inches long, the EQE SUV is about 7 inches shorter than the Tesla Model X, but its 119.3-inch wheelbase is nearly 3 inches longer than the Tesla’s, providing plenty of room. Rear legroom is 40.5 inches.

As the name suggests, the EQE SUV is a tall analogue Sedan EQE which also arrives in 2023. Both use Mercedes’ EVA modular platform, which is also present in Luke EQS and the EQS SUV. In the EQE SUV, the platform supports a 90.6kWh battery that can be charged from 10-80% capacity in around 32 minutes via a DC fast charger. Mercedes did not provide pricing for the range.

The exterior of the EQE SUV follows the familiar, aerodynamically refined styling that Mercedes introduced in its EQ line of electric vehicles. The appearance is somewhat innocuous, although this may be an advantage for some buyers. Buyers looking for a vehicle that stands out in this segment will want to take a look BMW iX or Cadillac Lyriq.

The design of the AMG EQE SUV looks almost identical to the regular version, except for the vertical stripes in the pseudo-grille and larger wheels (19-inch wheels as standard for the regular model and 21-inch for the AMG) and brakes. One of the new Mercedes design details is the use of the AMG badge on the nose instead of the traditional Mercedes star. However, the star still sits on the grille and tailgate.

The interior of the EQE SUV matches the EQE sedan and is also very close to the EQS and EQS SUVs. Up front, a fully digital Mercedes dashboard known as the Hyperscreen is available. Here, a number of digital screens are arranged under a single glass cover. The standard setup is a more conventional design with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a separate 12.8-inch screen for the infotainment system. In both cases, the infotainment system is Mercedes’ own MBUX system.
