Tesla has begun offering some customers its new Y Giga Texas model as an option to speed up delivery.

At last month’s Cyber Rodeo event, Tesla delivered its first Texas-made Model Y cars.

We noted that it is surprising that Tesla has not disclosed any details, such as specifications and prices, about the new version of the electric SUV.

It is equipped with new 4680 battery cells and structural battery technology, as a result of which the new Model Y finish has a significantly different car with different characteristics.

However, Tesla has never put up for sale this new finish, and all we know about it was through EPA documents that showed that it has a 279 mile range and all-wheel drive transmission. It is exhibited in the tariffs as “Model Y Standard Range AWD”.

We suspected that Tesla has so far delivered the vehicle to employees only through internal transactions, which explain why it never appeared on its website.

We were later able to confirm this based on a message that Tesla sent to employees and received Electric crackle.

It turned out to be new The Texas Y Standard starts at $ 59,990accelerates to 60 mph in five seconds and is equipped with several new features, including a magnetic armrest in the center console and a shelf for parcels.

Tesla is now appealing to local buyers in Austin using the Y model to offer them a new version of the Y model:

Speed up the delivery of the Y Yout model

You have the opportunity to see our latest configuration and get delivery in a few weeks.

Choose the Y All-Wheel Drive model and try one of the first cars built at Gigafactory Texas – and is currently available in the area. Drive anywhere from up to 279 miles on a single charge and accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.0 seconds.

Regularly check your Tesla account for updated inventory, or if you want to keep the current configuration, we will contact you to schedule a delivery meeting as soon as the vehicle is available.

Buyers then have several options if they want to technically “lower” their order to the Standard Range version.

Electric take

Interestingly, this is basically exactly how I thought it would be the best way to honestly deploy a car.

If you just add it as an option to the Model Y configurator, you will cause many people to miss the long queue.

So you are offering an opportunity to existing Buyers of Model Y in order to consider this as an option. For some, it may be better, cheaper, and you’ll get it faster.

Given that only a few cars are provided as inventory, it is likely that Tesla is simultaneously supplying employees with the new Model Y. We will probably see that this will continue for days to come and perhaps even weeks until a new version becomes available for orders for everyone.
