Tesla has plans are reportedly filed for a supercharger at 29 kiosks and a diner / auto theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The location is at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard at the intersection of Orange Drive.
Originally Tesla plans to build a diner in the coastal city of Santa Monicabut then moved plans to Hollywood. Now, perhaps for city dwellers, we’ve learned that the diner will still be in Hollywood … but on Santa Monica Boulevard, one of the city’s main streets.
On the old site in Santa Monica there is a supercharger that opened in Februaryalthough this supercharger no longer gets a diner.
Currently, a new place is occupied by Shakey’s pizzeria, which seems to still work. Plans include demolition of Shakey’s and construction of a new two-story dining room in its place. The hotel already has a large car park, although the site will need to be refurbished to add superchargers.

The lower floor will consist of a kitchen, a bar with chairs, several booths and an open bar on the edge of the building. On the top floor there will be outdoor roof seats with a bar counter, several tables and two rows of theatrical-style seating area and a bar counter behind the theater chairs. There is also a “car area” downstairs for waiters to deliver food orders to cars in the parking lot.
A theatrical-style chair will look in the parking lot with 29 supercharger kiosks and 34 common spaces – the last 5 will have Level 2 chargers for charging at a lower speed. The parking lot will have two screens that will be visible on the roof and cars in the parking lot.

The cinema will show short films lasting about 30 minutes, which should last as long as a standard meal / charge session.
From these images it is difficult to say what aesthetics will suit the diner. It was originally designed as an “old school” diner, but the addition of bamboo landscape screens surrounding the property on the north and west sides seems to diverge from this aesthetic. Now Tesla can focus on a “Futuristic” aesthetics, not the original “old school”.and these images look as if they can go either way.
Tesla is asking the city to allow the site to operate 24 hours a day, including the restaurant. The theater may not work all night, as Tesla has not asked the city to change the restrictions on the operation of the theater. We don’t know if that means the restaurant will be open around the clock, but Tesla wants the permit to stay open for so long.

Tesla has submitted documents for permission earlier for this project if it was in the city of Santa Monica, so plans may change again, especially if the city comes back and says the project has flaws. In particular, the parking lot seems to have a few strangely shaped places, so we’ll see if the city has a problem with that.
