The 2023 Range Rover SV Carmel Edition takes SUV exclusivity to a new level

Land Rover on Friday unveiled a limited edition of its latest iteration Range Rover An SUV that most people won’t even get the chance to buy.

The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover SV Carmel Edition takes its name from Carmel, California, the fashionable Californian city that is home to Land Rover’s base of operations for Monterey Car Week 2022, where a special SUV debuted. Only 17 examples will be produced and will be offered exclusively to guests of Land Rover in Monterey.

The Limited Edition gets a Satin Bronze exterior with 23-inch Dark Gray Gloss wheels with Satin Bronze inserts to match the paint. The interior gets semi-aniline leather upholstery with Liberty Blue front seats and Caraway (tan) rear seats. The rear seats also feature Carmel Edition embroidery, while the tread covers show the number of each car in the 17 series.

Based on the long-wheelbase Range Rover, the Carmel Edition also received a four-seat SV Signature Suite interior configuration. Instead of a second-row bench, the individual rear seats are separated by a console. The console includes an electric folding table, electric cup holders and a fridge with Dartington Crystal glassware.

Buyers also receive two Titleist Performance Institute golf club specials with full sets of clubs for the car owner and partner.

The Carmel Edition is powered by the new twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 introduced as part of the 2022 Range Rover redesign. This engine produces 523 hp. and 553 lb-ft of torque, sending the Range Rover from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

Pricing for the Range Rover SV Carmel Edition starts at $345,000 ex-destination. Land Rover said it will donate a portion of the proceeds from each vehicle to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
