Bentley the future isn’t as bright as the past—at least when we’re talking about exterior trim. The blacked-out Blackline spec package, which is firm featured on the Continental GT earlier in 2022 was so popular that it is now available on Flying spur Mulliner.
Opened on the sidelines of Monterey Car Week, the Flying Spur Mulliner Blackline spec forgoes almost all flashy exterior trim elements. Designers replaced the chrome elements with gloss black trim and painted the door mirror caps in Beluga Black. The Winged B grille and hood ornament retain some of their bright accents, and buyers can order black 22-inch wheels with polished pockets for an extra charge.
Bentley has left the interior untouched, meaning buyers can configure it to their liking. And there are no mechanical modifications: the Blackline Specification package is offered for the hybrid, V8 and W12 variants. Flying Spur Mulliner. In its fastest configuration, meaning the 626-horsepower twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine under the hood, the big sedan accelerates to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.7 seconds.
Pricing for the Blackline Specification package has not been announced. It’s not cheap, we suppose, but that’s unlikely to put buyers off: Bentley announced that almost 20% Continental GT Mulliner buyers have been ticking the ‘Blackline Spec’ box since its introduction.
At the other end of the Moliner spectrum, limited edition coupe Batur also scheduled to debut during Monterey Car Week.
