Porsche has created another virtual concept car for the Gran Turismo video game series. Under the name Vision GT Spyder, it will be available “Gran Turisma 7» players on September 29.

First revealed on Twitter, the Vision GT Spyder is an open-top version Porsche Vision GT coupe the automaker introduced at the end of 2021. For now other car manufacturers has shown off Vision Gran Turismo concepts for years, this was Porsche’s first as the automaker was largely absent from the world of Gran Turismo until 2017 due to licensing agreements.

The Vision GT concepts are electric sports cars that explore possible design themes of the future. Porsche actually built a full-scale mockup of the Vision GT coupe, but it’s unclear if it did the same with the Spyder.

Although the Vision GT Spyder and Coupé were designed exclusively for the Gran Turismo games, their styling has little in common with Porsche Mission R ConceptPorsche track racing car unveiled in September 2021. This is believed to be a preview electric 718 Cayman the automaker is believed to be gearing up for a mid-decade launch.

But Porsche’s next production electric car won’t be a sleek sports car. It will be The next generation Macan, which is expected to arrive next year as a 2024 model. While the petrol Macan is also expected to remain, Porsche expects an EV to follow corresponds to the current generation petrol Macan in sales.
